If you mean the gradual curve of the spoke, then yes, that much deformity can cause a spoke to break, especially at the head where it’s the weakest.

Breaking a spoke is common, and you almost certainly do not need a new wheel. Get the spoke replaced, or learn to do it yourself, and you’ll be fine. Don’t ride it until it’s fixed, except as far as you absolutely need to in order to get home or to safety.

Yes, if a spoke is bent, that that means it isn’t under tension, which means it isn’t doing it’s job. Any bent spokes should be replaced as soon as you notice them.

  3. I wouldnt be surprised if it had something to do with whatever impact buckled the rim near the broken spoke, but like others have said, as long as you get the right length spoke it’s an easy fix

Everybody’s talking about the broken spoke but not the dent in the rim’s “mouth”(? Idk what to call it)

Replace the spoke, but make sure whoever does it also retensions the entire wheel and verifies it with a tensiometer. The most common cause of spokes breaking is uneven tension, and when one goes, more will follow unless the wheel is tensioned properly.

New spoke, no big deal. I break spokes regularly.

For the dent in your rim you will need to release all pressure and break the tyre bead. Then with an adjustable wrench gently removed the dent. It should move back to almost perfect fairly easily.
