Don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner as they’re some thicccc boys. But I’m cheap, and they worked just fine. Replaced with Burgtec composites for £40 and the thinner pins feel much grippier!
The pedals are probably the most important component you can upgrade, followed next by your shoes.

Love my burtecs. Combined with 510s stealth sole and it’s so grippy that it makes micro adjustments near impossible lol.

I kind of like it when my pedals show the scars from many rides’ worth of scrapes and strikes. It’s one of the only parts of my bike where I don’t mind scratches. They are a physical trace of many past good rides. Wabisabi is a word that comes to mind.

I lasted on Trek test ride pedals for a year, then a slip up almost got me a dramatic injury lol. Invest in decent flat pedals, not those expensive medal ones, and they should last a while.
