  1. Btw – you CAN fail a CBT. A friend of mine had to have two go's at it. And a person who was on my CBT also didn't even make it to the end of the day because she just couldn't grasp it.

  2. I want to get a 125cc scooter for getting to and from work. I'm going to do a CBT and then ride for a year and maybe go for my A2 although, if I'm only riding 125cc scooters, I may just go for A1 automatic license.

  3. Some great advice there 😀 I've been riding for over 30 years (so didn't have to do any of this mod 1 and 2 or the theory) and CBT was something you did before your test (you didn't need it back then to ride on "L" plates) I was 21 when I did mine, defo agree with the road experience concept (I'd been driving cars since I was 17) so I already had the road sense. Did mine in 4 days, Day 1 CBT, Day 2 and 3 road experience and Day 4 was the test. I will say that riding bikes is simply one of the best feelings, don't give up 😉

  4. I got my license in 1999 in one day for just £50. I went to a driving school who wanted £250 for a Mon to Fri course with a test on the Friday. I figured I could fail five times for that cost so booked a test and passed first time. The secret is to not tell anybody! Still riding, 27 years later!

  5. All fine and large if you lucky enough to actually spend enough time actually riding on your lessons I just spent £400 for mod 1 training
Only got 2 lessons sharing 2 bikes with five people all novices lessons only 2.5 hrs long outcome as expected only 1 guy actually passed Utter robbery the motorcycle market deserves what is coming to it in terms of fewer and fewer riders won’t bother again

  6. I did it over two weeks . I think that was good enough . Fair enough though I did give myself three years on a 125 after my CBT . The tests aren't difficult so long as you put the work and practise in at the low speed manouvres in particular .

  7. It's all about demonstrating that your safe and competent on a bike on the roads ,no matter what may go wrong either with the bike or around you . I got one speed minus for doing 20mph in a 30 zone , I missed the speed sign coming off a roundabout as I entered a road . But I knew that the other road passing through the local place was a 20 zone so I played it safe .

  8. Seen 4 people fail on a CBT – 2 on theory, combined they got 10 out of 24 sign questions right (apparently the UK national speed limit is 100mph everywhere 😂) other two, one was dangerous on the first part and was basically told come back another day at a reduced cost, the other went through traffic lights on the wrong side of the road coming round a corner
