Welcome to the club OP bike looks great as to locks depends what you need if it’s just a cafe lock and your nearby Otto locks are excellent, if you need something for more long term security hiplock make excellent locks.

  2. I’ve got this exact same bike. On the occasions I need a lock, I use an Abus folding lock, sometimes paired with a Kryptonite cable.

Your new brompton looks super nice, enjoy being outside on it. As to locks, I have a litelok that I wear as a belt, I just find it easier to carry.

Don’t forget to post when that black chainstay protector on the drive side drops off. 🤣

Seriously, it’s really only a packaging protection for shipping that’s not attached very strongly. It’ll drop off and TBH isn’t needed or that effective.

If you want to protect that area then I’d remove that carefully and replace with a clear adhesive tape such as 3M make. Commonly known as helicopter tape. Especially with the colour of your bike being so light. IMHO the black OEM protection doesn’t look right with the nice and light colour. Better to use a good, clear tape.

BTW you can buy frame protection tape for Brompton bikes I believe, but I think helicopter tape is better than anything sold specifically targeted at Bromptons.

PS it’s actually a really nice colour. I’m more into darker colours but if I needed to I’d not turn down that colour. BTW when I got mine it was take what you can or wait for a long time for them to start production and shipping again post COVID lockdown. Fortunately I got the very common dark blue colour, aka tempest blue I think.
