Is it possible you are overpressuring it? How do you know you are pumping it to the correct pressure?

  2. “Schwalbe”

It looks like you once drove through battery acid. Afer a while the rubber disintegrates. The same happens with many shoe soles.

If it truly is one year old and you haven’t exposed it to any disintegrating chemicals, stored it outside all year or such, I would contact schwalbe and file a claim. Seems like a defective tire.

Maybe you installed the tyre a year ago, but Schwalbe Marathons were replaced by “Green Marathons” sometime from 2023…. Your tyre may welll be much older than a year.

  5. A year is a long time for a tire and totally dependent on the riding and distances covered. I go through tires, two sets a year

  6. that tyre is either defective or has endured some special hardship. either acid, extreme UV, maybe oxidation. it looks like it is 40 years old.

Some serious degredation on that tyre looks like it’s had way too much UV and possibly chemical exposure.
