Wanted to try steel bikes. Got this frame and built it. Now that I see the blue, I kinda wish I had gotten the « naked steel » paint.
Lovely plush ride. For anyone wondering, yes, you will be pushing harder to get to similar speeds as other materials. I have had a TCR before and current is the yoeleo r12. The carbon performance cannot be matched.
Carbon fork, which makes for a weird bike behaviour. It’s booty – heavy. Front end feels twitchy in comparison. While this is not the end all be all steel experience, it gave me enough to get a taste. It’s not for performance. But for a commuter, the position is relaxed, makes for a fun ride and I always end up taking the long way home. That’s all I need to know.
I will not be taking it to the fast club rides. That’s just asking for pain.

Great looking bike.
I’ve got a CX01 in the ‘steel’ paint with nearly 20,000km on it in just over 2 years of riding. The CX01 has a steel fork and QR, so it’s a bit more of a ‘traditional’ steel framed bike, but I too use it mostly as a commuter, and it definitely isn’t as quick as my titanium road bike. Still, it’s not ‘slow’ by any means, and I too like taking mine on longer rides and have even done some touring with it.
