This is the most in depth winter tire test on YouTube for 2023/24, please share and subscribe!

Here’s the link to adjust the winter tyre test results: https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/Results-Grid/2023-Tyre-Reviews-Winter-Tyre-Test.htm

In this video I’m testing eleven of the most talked-about winter tyres, and I’m putting them to the ultimate test. The tyre size I’m testing is 225/45 R18.

First up, we’ve got the snow tests. I’ll be showing you how each tyre handles in those snowy conditions that we all love to hate. Next, we’ll see how these tyres perform on dry and wet roads. You’ll get to see how they grip, how they handle, and how they make you feel behind the wheel, plus looking at the all important braking.

Comfort is also on the agenda, we’ll look at how these tyres fare on bumpy roads and last but not least, we’ll be checking out rolling resistance which affects your fuel efficiency.

In this winter tire test we have:

Bridgestone Blizzak LM005
LEAO WINTER DEFENDER
Continental WinterContact TS870P
Falken EUROWINTER HS02 PRO
Giti GitiWinterW2
Goodyear Ultragrip Performance 3
Hankook Winter i*Cept Evo 3
Kumho Wintercraft WP52
Michelin Pilot Alpin 5
Pirelli Cinturato Winter 2
Vredestein Wintrac Pro

  1. last complaint about this video and many others of yours, you can not buy any of these tyres in the uk, Nokian has no importer to the uk, scotland stopped and the next went bump, bridgestone bizzak lm005 and lm32 are not available for uk sales. Perilli cinturo and ice zero are not sold in the uk only europe goodyear ultra grip not available in the uk, michelin, x ice- alpin and alpin6 as well as pilot alpin5 are also not available in the uk, why test tyres that are not able to be brought in the UK?????????

  2. Hello @tyrereviews – 1st I want to greet you guys for the detailed tests and you impression on winter tires, . 2nd, I propose you to test two economical tires "SAILUN ICE BLAZER ALPINE EVO1" and Petlas Snowmaster 2 Sport. I had driven two cars with those tires and I was quite impressed about those two on dry conditions. I could just review them in the list but this could not be relevant because they are the only ones I had tested. Regards!

  3. Wheres the REAL winter tire test? These are not real winter tires.
Please test the real winter tires we use in north europe, friction and studded like conti viking contact and nokia hakkapeliitta. Thank you.

  4. Are the dry & wet tests done at winter temperatures? Where I am in Ireland we don't have much snow in winter but temperatures are pretty consistently below 7 degrees—I have a good set of summer tyres (Goodyear Eagle F1s) but if a good summer tyre is better than the winter tyres in these conditions it probably isn't worth swapping?

  5. What do you suggest for 225/40/18 for golf 8 mid Europe to mediteran. I aim Conti, Bridgestone and Michelin i have doubts. Also if by default my tires are 225/40/18 can i fit 225/45/18 for more confort or you do not recomend that?

  6. And the winner is….Michelin. It’s becoming predictable my friend. I watch the line up and then fast forward to the end for the inevitable Michelin win. Oh well…

  7. i wish it was possible to record acceleration values for each tires to compares. specifically max acceleration, average acceleration at section of the track/during braking/during acceleration and also jerk values

  8. damnit, I saw this video to late. I bought the KUMHO Winter Craft WP52, with the means of having a good winter tyre in WET conditions…..

Thanks for proving that the EU-Label's are horseshit

  9. I used to run Continentals both in summer and in winter, however, last year, also based on your reviews, I have switched to Bridgestone for the winter and Good Year for the summer. OMG!!! What a difference! As a person who loves to drive (sometimes maybe a little bit faster than necessary), these have been total game changers!!! 🤩 Thank you for the tips! 👌Btw. we have lots of snow in the winter and very hot summers. So my choices may be slightly different than for someone living e.g. in the UK.

  10. But what about old great winter tyres vs new, cheap tyres? Because some people will drive their tyres for 5,6,7+ years and maybe it´s not great to buy cheap tyres, but what if it´s better to replace them every 3 years compared to double that on expensive ones?

  11. Nice Review, how does the michelin pilot alpine 6 compare to alpine 5? How much % is it better, is the price increase worth it? or can i just go for the alpine 5?

  12. I get why you went with these but a little sad that the altimax arctic isn't included. Been running them for the past 10 years and they've never let me down. They reviewed really well on tirerack the year they were released and feel like they've just flown under the radar since.

  13. I wasn't surprised to find that Michelin did the best for winter tires, but Continental doing this bad job was really surprising. That said, my car has Michelin X-Ice North 4 because studded are legal here and that tire has even better traction.

  14. It will be vehicle depending tires have specific load ratings some better for heavy vehicles and some better for lighter vehicles tire pressure/sidewall hight all matters and effects suspension, also application depends, they have speed ratings most have a couple options, some will be better in wet snow and some will be better on ice, and some better in deep snow, some better in very cold conditions and some better in warmer tire temperatures/ coefficient of traction and conformity to uneven surfaces, oil resistant

  15. I had fited Hankook Ventus Prime 4 when it came out and those proved great. Since i need new tires for the winter I'm thinking to go with RS3. Would go with Bridgestone but 16 euros price difference per tire is to much in my opinion. Don't drive that much

  16. I watched a few video now, and in no one wear is any factor.
What is it worth to you a tyre for 100 + € a piece and having to replace it every season….
We are not on a race track. We want tyres that work and last. I don't care about 5% lap time increase.

  17. Last year you confirmed PA5 will be good to go, so I went for it without having too much evidence. Put on my Camaro ZL1 and man, this is surprisingly good tire. I went and did stupid stuff in this car during snow storm. Like really stupid stuff – where AWD cars stopped, only pickup trucks were driving 🙂 Yup, stupid. Didn't get stuck, although I would deserve that haha.
