Oxford is famous for cycling, mainly because it’s the easiest way to get around its quiry cobbled streets and between university buildings. It has the oldest university in the English-speaking world and it’s entire centre is packed with ornate architecture, making it the most extraordinary place to pedal. If you can avoid the tourists in the middle of the road.

I grew up in Cambridge. Different punting styles. University town.
Great little Video Kit π
Wow, nice city, nice trip, but a little bit short. I like these kind of videos. Thanks for taking us with you. Greetings from Switzerland π¨π
Where was Inspector Morse? π
Oxford was my first trip to the UK a little over 15 years ago. I was lucky enough to get paid to travel over for a conference and parlayed it into a month-long vacation with two weeks of cycling around Dorset and a week of exploring around York. I've been back to various places in the UK about a dozen times since then.
I actually ended up in Oxford unexpectedly last year to meet a friend for a light pub crawl. During the day it's changed completely in the past 20 years. It certainly has ended up on tourist itineraries these days. It was packed- even in early December! But I think a lot of it was day trippers from London. After 7pm or so, it was less crowded and much as I'd remembered.
So if anyone wants a good wander (and maybe cycle) in Oxford these days, I'd definitely suggest going at night!
The geese seem to be social distancing.
Fun! Thanks
Hey Kit, you can't beat the view of the arch of Hertford college! Well you can as that coffee and cake looked fab. Hope you managed to walk your bike through the covered market. Thanks again π
Honestly, your lovely voice is so relaxing! Beautiful video!
Oxford & Cambridge universities own more land between them than the Church of England and that is an education in itself…
Nice video and a Nice clear English voice .. They would like to hear your Vince in America I think ..
I used to contribute photos to a photographic library in Oxford. Were you a student there ? as you know you're way around .
I always wanted to do the Christian history tour of Oxford as lots of famous people were there like. John Wesley.
I visited there with my Mum many times.

You edited just right π
The centre of Oxford isn't really a place to cycle fast, particulary around the colleges. There are lots of tourists all year, but especially spring/summer.
2:00 The architecture looks beautiful. The reddish brownish colour. Is this the default natural colour of the material bricks etc or they have been intentionally painted or colored this way? For example the pink city Jaipur is pink not because the natural colour of material used eg bricks stones woods etc are naturally pink but the city is pink because people have chosen to paint it that way. So is it the same situation here ?
