Don’t really know what happened. Tire exploded while I was riding on a trail, lucky I was able to keep control without falling off and I was close to a road because I had to wheel it on the back tire all the way there. Hadn’t hit anything. I think a piece may have fallen off that had something to do with the fender and somehow it got caught, folded, causing the inner tube to pop? The tire itself is fine. I accidentally backed over the bike last summer and thought I had gotten it all fixed up but maybe something was damaged that wasn’t caught.

Glad you’re okay! Looks like your fender stay is missing. If that piece came loose (or caught a stick or whatever) it could cause the rest of what we’re seeing here. Good news? Fenders and tubes are cheap, and you’re unhurt. Get a solid safety check from your LBS and they’ll have you back out there in no time.

Bead failure. Do not reuse that tire even if it seems OK. It will fail again 100%

  3. That is very rare to see, but I have seen it happen with those exact tires at the shop I work at. Kept blowing off the rim on a eBike a few times times until we replaced it with a Schwalbe Marathon
