Since I found the that I’m cycling more at night now, I thought it was time to upgrade to something that will actually illuminate the path in front of me. I picked up the MagicShine Hori 900 and couldn’t be happier.
The streets are pretty well lit at night in Toronto so I didn’t feel that I needed to go any brighter. I wanted to clean up my handlebars so I bought an aluminum mount from Amazon. I had to add another washer between the mount and frame to stop it from rubbing against the headset. And it still has enough clearance that I can put a bag on the front carrying block.
The beam pattern is interesting, with the cutoff at the top so it doesn’t blind oncoming traffic. Bonus picture of my spotlight-seeking cat.

Is that the cat from the band on the run album cover?
