  1. For mostly pavement at speeds over 15mph have you considered a gravel / all road e-bike?

What percentage of the ride is off road and is it mostly smooth and flat gravel or dirt roads or bumpy and steep mountain bike trails?

Both bikes have suspension forks and essentially mountain bike tires, but with a continuous center tread for pavement.

Canyon has 27.5″ wheels with wide 2.2″ tires.

Cube has larger 29″ wheels and even wider 2.6″ tires.

Both bikes seem to be overkill for riding mostly on pavement at the speeds you want.

    >I am mostly riding on the road …parts of my usual routes are straight flats so something I can still pedal faster than the 15.5mph speed limit would be great.

For mostly pavement at high speed consider a lighter bike with a lighter rigid fork and 700c wheels with a size narrower tires such as a gravel e-bike.

Or if any e-Bike is more road focused and the included tires are too slick and you need more off road traction then you can often install a pair of gravel bike tires.
