Things went wrong in this video!

Who remembers when you could go to an ice cream van on a British summer’s day afternoon and buy a mr whippy cone for 99P?

Well we can remember these days, but they seem to be a distant memory.

we often find that in london or manchester city centres ice cream vans can be charging as much as £4 for a humble mr whippy ice cream.

ice creams should still be 99p in our opinion, so we are taking on the challenge of searching the whole of the UK for a mr whippy ice cream that is sold for 99p.

do you think we will be able to find one?

this is the fifth installment of this fun youtube series.
we travel to london the capital city of the UK and england to see if we can find some 99p 99 mr whippy walls ice cream in hyde park, mayfair, central london, the royal parks, regents park and finsbury park.

This was the week before the north london derby between arsenal and tottenham and we went to the royal parks in london to find the ice creams, but things went wrong!

we also find some strawberry sauce too.

  1. Funny thing is they weren’t called it because of the price, used to be less. There was even a joke in a show in the 70s (just good friends) an ice cream man scamming a tourist charging him 99p for a 99.

  2. The 99 in a "Flake 99" has nothing to do with the price. They were first introduced in the 1920s where 99p would have had a purchasing equivalent of £20 today.

  3. The 99 was never about the price it’s the flake that’s called 99 as far as I remember
I did have an ice cream van in about 2006 my price were

    Small 99 1.80
    Medium £2

    Large £240 I think 🤔
You wouldn’t want a large too big

And I sold Walls Ice Cream , Proper !!!

  4. Double flake 99 back in ohhh say 1991 – 1993 with all the trimmings bits sauce this that
    Wafer cone ect
10x bigger and even nicer back then
    50p-£1 😢😢😮😮😊😊

God i miss the 1990s hot uk summers as a pre/teen teen
