  1. Most shops will have lock-on grips that have screws to tighten them in place, although I’ve never had this problem with any grips. You might just want to get new ones.

To take them off or move them, squirting a bit of isopropyl alcohol underneath loosens them right up. An air compressor can do it too, but I find that doesn’t work as well. Once the alcohol dries, they stick back to the bar.

    1.Remove grips.
    2. Spray hairspray into grips.
    3. Put grips back on bars.
    4. Wait until hairspray dries.
    5. Witness the grip.
    6. Write thank you message.
    7. Removal will be more difficult, they will not come off easily and the grips cannot be reused after.

In the past , hair spray was used to “sticky “ them in place.

Slide them off ,clean the bar and inside of the grip with isopropyl alcohol, then slip the grips back on with the same isopropyl. A quick first on the bars and even quicker installation before the iso dries up.

Once it’s dry, they should hold if place

If they move , then it means your grips are old and fatigued and need to be replaced

Buy the lock/on grips for $10 more and ride happy.

Could use grip tape such as from golf clubs.

Use a little mineral spirits to slide the grips in place and when it did they are quite stuck.

New grips that don’t have the end busted out work better too.
