The big jockey wheel on my old Deore RD-M592 fell off the other week and disappeared into the bush. I bought a replacement one but couldn't get the bolt to tighten up. It just span and span. A closer look shows the old bolt appears to have taken most of the thread with it when it left. Am I just up for a whole new derailleur at this point?

Try a longer bolt
Seriously, just a longer bolt.
Longer bolt makes sense but I can’t find a longer one for this purpose that has the solid bolt then a longer thread. Maybe I just need to look harder…
