Had a customer walk in today with a flat. All of their spokes were intact and the wheel was fine. Turns out they ran over a spoke nipple in the road and it blew a flat. This is definitely the first time I've seen a spoke pop a tire like that.

I thought it was a spoke nipple from his own wheel and I was wondering how the f*ck did you do that?
Some car shops have a jar of nonsense they’ve pulled out of flats. Youd be surprised.
However, even after years I spent in a bike shop I’ve never seen another bikes spoke and nipple.

The fact that it is almost in-line with the nearest spoke is awesome.
Someone’s bike maintenance is so bad it is causing other bikes to be less reliable. Honestly the story is worth the flat if you weren’t late for anything critical.
See this is why I was an early adopter of road tubeless. When a spoke nipple penetrates my tire I have not a care in the world. I got tired of those nipples everywhere.
Somewhere in the world a car windshield broke cause it got hit from another car’s windshield.
That was supposed to be just a temporary fix till he could get it to the shop.
