Maybe I’m over-cautious, but I want to be able to bounce a tennis ball off of my chain tension. I’ve had loose chains jump off the rear cog going downhill into traffic *too many times* to be comfortable with that flailing tube man-level of slack.

Eh, could tighten up a little bit. If you want to test it I believe Park Tool has a video for chain tension.
