Can a non-experienced cyclist survive a 400km journey from London to Paris? Join us as we take on the Avenue Verte, pushing through the English countryside and the heart of Normandy to reach the Eiffel Tower.

This isn’t just a video about cycling; it’s about what happens when you step out of your comfort zone and into the unknown. We started in London with minimal training, a camera, and a lot of optimism. I wanted to talk to the locals, understand what makes life different in the small villages of France, and finally experience Paris culture not as a tourist in a taxi, but as a traveler who earned his way there.

What’s the most ‘out of your comfort zone’ trip you’ve ever taken

  1. I love this video Geordie! Can’t wait for your next adventure, all I kept thinking was your poor balls LOL hope you lubricated them well!!

  2. What a wonderful video, and a brilliant message at the end! Glad you had a great trip and thanks for sharing with us 🙂

  3. Great video and you stopped in my hometown East Grinstead! Looks like you had a memorable trip and made some discoveries along the way, thanks for sharing. Good luck to your Dad

  4. Wow, this feels like I've watched a movie or a episode of a travelling programme, I actually clapped at the end of it. Big ups to you and Max for making it to Paris, as Miley sang 'its all about the climb', what an experience, and the memories you too will have. Also the connections and interactions you had with strangers, this is what I want to be rich in. Best of luck to your Dad, I hope he gets elected.

  5. Dude, loved this! Your ability to connect with people is how great documentarians are made. These long form videos are entertaining, informative and uplifting. Such a good job, and shout out to the videographer. There wasn;t a wasted/unintentional moment, or anywhere where it lagged, including where you're narrating. Your dad brought you up right. Hope he gets to Congress in November!

  6. 1. I told you on day one that you'd regret the backpack.
    2. Cycling through France is an incredible experience. Freshly baked breakfasts from the Boulangerie being one of my favourite parts.
    3. Travel is one of the greatest educators and liberators of minds and attitudes.

  7. Cycling to the coast can be also be great for life thinking. You know that you’re going to end up at sea level so every hill you go up on the way is also a hill that you’re going to go down..

  8. @kjordy , Hi, how was your back during that trip and was it inexperience or preference you not using a pannier rack instead of a backpack?

  9. Such an awesome video, felt wholesome watching it and also has me excited for my cycling trip from Spain through the length of France. Gotta ask, did you even use the lock 😂😂

  10. Great video. That is a good job with little experience but please get a rack, riding with that backpack is making my back feel sore.

  11. Very fun video! I bikepacked for a week last summer from Prague to Zurich (about 700km). I'm not really a cyclist, like I cycle about 5 times a year. I expected it to be very hard (which it was at times, especially when going uphill😂) but it was actually kinda chill and also incredibly fun. I couldn't do it with a 20kg backpack, that sounds like hell. I think I want to do a 2 week trip around the Balkans this September and this video definitely inspired me to go for it!
