One of my favorite YouTubers, BikeFramer, just closed his small bike shop and is pursuing other ventures. Recently, he’s been airing his views on biking, its economics, and the overall outlook for his favorite hobby. His most recent video is a swift punch to the gut for bikers, yet he’s kind enough to lift you from the ground and give a quick primer on why he did that. Good stuff!

Second favorite bike YouTuber behind Calvin
I see the bike business hasn’t changed since I left it 20+ years ago.
I’ve been watching him for around a year. He is my primary bike channel. I feel that once you watch enough of his videos, you kind of lose the anxiety about working on your own bike.
Thanks Andy! 🚲
I recently came across his channel. He makes all kinds of sense.
A bit negative and old man yells at cloud for my taste
I now keep a can of Pledge in my bike cleaning bucket thanks to this epic dude 👍🏼
I’m a big fan of Bikefarmer. I love working on bikes, sort of meditative for me after getting back into over the past year or two. Watching his vids tides me over if I don’t have one I’m working on at the time. Down to earth guy. He does have the occasional freezing cold take IMO (like our future AI Utopia) and I don’t love his Better Help advertising. But it’s okay to disagree on some things. Overall, probably my top YT watch.
I want Calvin Jones to cameo on his channel so bad, or a podcast ep where they both talk about bikes for 3 hours
Ope!
Framin’ bikes
He was too obnoxious for me.
I liked watching his videos for a bit but the constant political talk and e-begging got annoying. I prefer watching bike content for the bikes.
Eh, I dunno – last time I went into a bike shop it was to get fenders fitted to a bike they sold me. I’d originally asked around online for people’s experience as to what would fit and found out they sold the same fenders, so I figured why not have them do the assembly? Well, they told me from their experience that a different set worked better, so I went with what they said instead. Turns out no, that doesn’t fit. Then they tried to act like they were doing me a favor refunding 50% since they didn’t normally offer refunds on custom orders at all.
He’s the kind of mechanic that makes people ask why bike mechanics are such condescending insufferable twats. Better knowledge available from other sources.
Bro couldn’t keep his shop open because he’s a airhead and does shit repairs not surprised
Mixed feelings on Andy. He seems like a good dude, I appreciate his sarcasm and his overall vibe.
But lately he’s taken a hard pivot into AI scripts and openly admitted his only motivation for the YouTube channel is making as much money as possible. He’s started to lose some of the authenticity that made him relatable IMO.
