Most write ups online say these are a puta to install, destroying wheels etc but @LightBicycleOfficial install video on YouTube did it by hand.
I did it by hand also, or am I just lucky? 🤔

I have succeeded to install those by hand, but they can be very tight depending on the rim design.
No big deal bro
No issue by hand, just need good technique

I don’t remember gators being extraordinarily hard to put on. Thumb shredders sometimes sure, but not abnormally difficult. These days my 23mm gp5ks seem like a pain. But yeah just technique and white knuckling it sometimes
Did they lubricate the rim so it slides on better
are tire levers not a thing anymore?
Now do tubeless ready lol
super hard for me, idk. h plus sons
(Laughs in Challenge tire)
Went to the Philly bike expo & even a frame builder admitted that they were absurdly difficult to mount
Song?
1. It helps to “pull” the tire towards the spot where the bead isn’t on. Essentially sliding more material towards the opening. Even 1mm of movement can help.
2. You CAN permanently ruin your tread by stretching the sidewalls if you aren’t careful. It is less likely to happen to a gatorskin than a fat 32-35mm tire, but i’ve accidentally introduced a wobble into a tire by muscling it on. Beware.
I think it’s all about technique. There’s a couple of good YouTube videos out there on how to do it.
I’ve replaced 3 pairs of gatorskins, all by hand. Not much to it.
Now try that with tubeless ready 😅😅😅 iykyk
How do you like the gatorskins? I’m getting to many flats recently
👍Always by hand for my quiver but some rims can definitely be challenging
i’ve had zero issues with gators, mavic open pro, cxp33 (i think they have a different name now), velocity
I install Continental GP5000s by hand with no tools. It looks to me like the person in the video actually did it the hard way. It is much easier to push the tyre into the V in the rim, work it around to the other side, and then slip the final bit over the rim. Easy peasy.
Depends are these the wire ones or the foldable ones?
Dunno I’ve always done gators by hand. The real thing is just making sure you don’t pinch the tube.
