12 speed ultegra with an 11/30 cassette on a super six evo size 61 w/ 175 cranks.
I did the big big sizing and I think it looks OK but it just sounds and feels rough.
Appreciate the help!
Edit: don’t worry I don’t intend to ride it this way! Just trying to show chain at its most extreme scenario for reference. Thanks all!

Looks like a properly sized chain to me. You shouldnt be riding much if ever in that combo tho
just to be clear, you aren’t riding it in big-big are you?
Yep, looks right
Imo it looks 1-2 link short. Which sizing methong did you use ?
Chain length is fine but don’t ride like that…….
Nah I’d want another link.
For everyone poopy pants about big-big, Shimano, SRAM, and Campy have all come out and said cross chaining, specifically big-big is fine with the newer 12 speed drivetrains. What they actually discourage is small-small, because of a slack chain.
Anyways, follow the chain installation instructions from Shimano.
Your derailleur angle looks exactly like what Park Tools shows for its chain sizing guide. It’s good to go.
I run shorter than big-big.
….because I never let anyone else ride my bike and while its technically OK to ride big-big, it is not a gear I (or any experienced rider with better than average wattage will ever need)
Looks ok. But make sure it’s still ok during the shift into big/big. Both the front and rear derailleurs. That’s when you might end up with the chain too short.
Question is why would you need to ride big big when you have a small chain ring? Shift down bro.
Never go big big or small smal
Looks good to me but what’s the distance between the guide pulley and your largest sprocket? I think it needs to be 14 mm with a 30 tooth and this looks like a lot more (hard to tell from pic obviously)
