Hello All !
I want your advice, so i never had a road or gravel bike, this Trek bike is available in my city, (there is no many options of new bikes especially road and gravel) i want to know if it's worth to buy this model of this year with rim brakes and etc etc, or it's better to wait and find something second hand which logically will be more advenced, like disc brakes better parts and etc etc, so what your verdict on this
(i want to ride it mostly inside a city, sidewalk, bc roads and cars are dangerous in my city unfortinately ) any advice is aceptable (at this moment i have trek marlin 6 which is really good for me but i like road bikes from my pov,
Thank you for your time and advice whoever will give me !

For riding in the city flat bars are better than drop bars. Getting an FX would probably be better for you.
I bought a Domane like this last year. The comfort is fantastic, as is typical of Domanes. I don’t race, haven’t raced, and don’t intend to, so the Claris doesn’t bother me either, although there are some gaps in the gear ratios. I replaced the brake pads the first day and it was fine, but even though it was fine and I still have the bike itself, I bought a Cube with Tiagra and hydraulic brakes. I’m a heavier rider, and stopping with the hoods on the calipers isn’t as effective, which leads to poorer safety. However, if I weighed 70 kg, it would probably be fine, but at the price of the Trek and at least Cube or Canyon bikes, I wouldn’t buy a Domane again. I love the geometry and comfort, but it costs too much and doesn’t offer enough.
Domane is a good bike. Rim brakes are very old technology at this point, though. I wouldn’t buy it but it could be a decent value if priced low.
