Hey guys! today I made what I consider my first long ride. 28kms non stop. It seems from what I have googled that it is not actually a long ride haha, but from being doing rides in a not more than 10km radius it felt amazing.
I know, I have both brakes installed, as when I purchased this bike it came as a Single Speed with a flip flop hub, but it's for the sake of getting used to counter pedal and save from one or other mistake.
looking forward to learn more and change my handlebars to pursuit bars, but I'm still learning about tees and compatibility, so any advice is intensely appreciated. Cheers!
Did my first "long" ride on my fixie.

Im gonna be the guy today, get some foot retention dude ideally before you worry about changing things like bars and definitely before you go pulling brakes off, which in itself isn’t required sure the internet thinks no brakes is cool but it’s hard to be cool if you’re dead.
Good job getting the KMs in though, it takes time to build it up!
How and why are so many people riding around without foot retention? Bizarre
Nice ride!28km is a great start for fixed gear.
If you feel more secure w brakes on leave them on. Foot retention is a big help for using lost energy on the counterpedal. Been riding fixed for 7 years and I still use brakes bc I value my life more than being cool lol (also bc when biking over 60kmh i cannot trust skidding to do everything for me)
Have fun on the bike, 28km is a solid achievement on a fixed gear! 🙂
