This is a 2019 Eagle XO derailleur and I can’t figure out how to match up the shift cable housing with the mech.
None of my standard ferrules fit inside that aluminum piece, but there’s a nasty gap between the housing and the aluminum piece.
I don’t remember if the aluminum bit is original or not- it’s stuck and I’m afraid to try to remove it.

That silver aluminum piece is not part of the derailleur. Pull that off and your cable ferrules will fit in the recess there.
That is an old ferrule that is stuck in the derailleur. Needle nose pliers, and if possible a pick pushing from the back should be able to get that out. Then you can just install as normal with a ferrule on your housing
