I bike commute all winter in Winnipeg, it’s not particularly difficult either

It is the same in every country, there is aways some reason making it impossible. To hot, to cold, to dry, to wet, to windy and so on, despite a lot of people biking just fine.

People in Alaska and in a lot of Siberia Russia and northern China walk for commuting in the winter.

I live in Oslo, Norway. No problem commuting all year around. Some Norwegian cities even sponsors (sponsored) spiked tires for winter commuting.

Yes, you need infrastructure in the sense that the bike paths need to be cleared also in winter (or packed). Yes, it is warmer in Oslo than in some places in Canada, but still.

  5. I live in Eastern Finland and bike year round.
