Please notice that this thing also holds the “lower stop disk” which together with the seat post keeps the triangle (“landing gear”) locked in parking (“gear up”) position, keeping the whole package together when the Brompton is folded.
Without it your Brompton will cease to be a folding bike.
It will be fiddly to get it just right. So turn off your gadgets, find your zen and you will succeed.
