  1. A German website testing lots of Continental and Schwalbe tires. The new Terra Competition aces the test as „best in the test“. I don’t know the business model of Granfondo-cycling but I rather trust real opinions, subjective as they may be. In a forum I read, the Terra Continental was generally considered disappointing.

The rolling resistance results were interesting, as they are somewhat at odds with other tests we’ve seen. Particularly for the MTB tires, which tested slower than expected, but also the Caracal Race being the same as the Terra Speed was a surprise.

But I also question the choice of tire pressure for the MTB tires and the speeds they tested at.

I think overrall tho the tire pressure choices and speeds they tested do give us additional data points that suggest some tires could perform differently at slower speeds.

And the overrall winner being the GX Pro is a solid choice. It really does offer a great combo of grip, rolling resistance and puncture protection along with a range of size options.

  3. I’m no Dylan Johnson but if the fastest tyres are what you are after; he has some of the best ratings and info.

  4. People are so damn obsessed with tires. Just find something that balances speed and flat protection that you like and rip it.

  5. Ok BRR has Schwalbe on the lower end for puncture resistance. Now tested under normalized conditions at the Schwalbe lab almost all Schwalbe tires are above average. Also overall winner is a Schwalbe. Hmm…
