Thank you so much for watching! Hope you enjoyed it!

If you’re new to my channel and videos, hi! I’m Evan Edinger, and I make weekly “comedy” videos every Sunday evening. As an American living in London I love noticing the funny differences between the cultures and one of my most popular video series is my British VS American one. I’m also known for making terrible puns so sorry in advance. Hope to see you around, and I’ll see you next Sunday! 🙂

If you want to know HOW I make my videos including gear, lighting, all the tiddly bits that connect it all together, (with cheaper alternatives and kit I used to use), I’ve listed each item, what it’s great at, and why I use it on the gear section of my website here:

  1. Cool get together, guys. I hope everyone around London keeps believing this is the way to go.!

I would say though… only when you think it is very reasonable not to have to wear a helmet anymore, for any reason, your city/place/wherever can be graded a B or higher.
That said, Amsterdam is clearly a B. And London is a D.

  2. I'd love to see you come up north and test some of our bike paths.
I'm so used to the cycling around Notts that I don't know if I just acclimatised or if it is actually good

  3. The thing that doesn't get discussed enough when it comes to biking infrastructure is safe places to store your bicycle. Something London has approximately zero of. People are less likely to bike if their bikes are going to get stolen.

Personally, I biked from Paris to London last year and on day 2 of being in London my bike was stolen. Sure, it was an expensive bike, but there was also zero places for me to securely lock my bike up. I used two U locks, in front of a courthouse, with cameras pointed near the bike racks, and still it was stolen.

  4. I live in the Netherlands, and most people I know who drive cars VERY seldom cycle themselves. Maybe in Amsterdam, but not here in Arnhem – Nijmegen area.

  5. A Canadian and an American, discussing how London is reasonably good, but still couldn’t hold a candle to Amsterdam (but infinitely better than North American pedestrian/cycle infrastructure).

  6. @8:57 that cyclist who clearly crossed a red light and almost caused you to crash into him needs to be fined.
The government should demand that all bike-sharing companies: Santander, Forest, Lime, Tier, Dot, etc register each bike and clearly display the license number so it is caught on camera. If a cyclist breaks the law, then they can find who was renting the bike and fine them, just like car rentals do.

  7. The sponsor link literally made me laugh out loud! There's a magnificent bit of cycle lane near me – very practical, definitely – cycle lane / parking space / cycle lane / parking space / cycle lane x the entire road! the requisite metres of cycle lane painted by the council, dozens of cycles painted on the road, much success? Making it usable doesn't matter…

  8. Watching this video I really was afraid something would happen to them several times.
By far it wasn't safe to ride a bike there.
I've been in London a few times and indeed I was surprised to see the amount of cars has been reduced.
I notice work is going on to improve cycling but it is still a loooooooooooooong way to go….

  9. That remark about “you don’t judge the need for a bridge by how many people swim across the river” is so spot on!! Perfect illustration for whoever doesn’t get how to determine infrastructure requirements.

  10. 27:28 When I cycle commuted in Philadelphia, I would use my watch's heart rate monitor. 90% of the commute was along dedicated shared use paths, and the 10% where I had to interact with car traffic absolutely showed up on the HRM graph as elevated heart rate.
