Join me on Day 1 of my Wolf Way bikepacking adventure, tackling the start of Suffolk’s 250-mile cycle route. Beginning in Bures, I load up my gravel bike and head into a mix of bridleways, quiet lanes, and sandy trails that define the Wolf Way. Along the ride, I pass through historic villages, explore hidden corners of East Anglia, and share the reality of riding fully loaded with bikepacking gear.

The Wolf Way, launched in 2024, is fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting gravel cycling and bikepacking routes. With gentle but testing terrain, medieval history, and wildlife-rich landscapes, it’s the perfect adventure for cyclists wanting more than just tarmac.

After a full day in the saddle, I finish at the eco-friendly Wardley Hill Campsite, the perfect stopover for riders on the trail. If you’re planning your own bikepacking trip, cycle tour, or gravel ride in Suffolk, this video gives you an inside look at what to expect, from gear setup to route challenges.

Don’t forget to subscribe for Part 2, where I complete the Wolf Way and share my reflections on this epic new UK cycling route!

  1. Enjoying this one looks like a great trip. You mentioned about off road riding well something that worked for me pick a section of single track somewhere that you can ride regularly something twisty downhill and session it over and over keep eye on your times as you learn the track and lines you times will tumble at the same time you will find your limits on the bike the more you sesh the section you will start to strech those limits and before you know it you will be flying off road 😄 oh and Im definatly a haribo man 😂
