do all of these GT frames fit 700c wheels? or did you have to adapt it in some way? i have a trek 970 that i wish i could get larger wheel diameter inside.

I am doing a similar build with a corner bar knock off. How is the braking performance with the brake pads that far up? I have a set of these extenders but they are kinda ugly and add flex.
