  1. Thanks for the video, fun to watch on a snowy morning on the bike trainer.

I'm sure you know from all of the museums, but Italians moved west across NY as the Erie canal was being built for jobs as it coincided with when many were moving to America, so that's why there's so much food Italian food.

  2. I am a life-long cyclist born and raised in Buffalo who has cycled extensively around NYS but not the Canal trails. I love how you presented your trip and enjoyed this video. Many thanks and happy trails!

  3. That was very nice of you to accommodate your friend and shorten you days and trip. You rode right behind my house in Cohoes. I hope you enjoyed your trip and thanks for posting.

  4. Lifelong resident of Rochester, NY here. I've ridden the canal and Genesee River trailways for decades in and around the Rochester area. Can't believe all the sunshine you guys encountered. 3 or 4 days of sunshine from Buffalo to Syracuse is a rare sight. Great video.

  5. 4:25 can’t believe the boat you saw happens to be my boat!!! Glad to see you were able to be up here while the weather was great!!! What a wild coincidence to see Big’r Ben in a random YouTube video lol

  6. Very well done! Rode the trail system many of times, brings back great memories. I'm from the Albany area and used to ride this trail system to get to College at SUNY Brockport (I had no drivers license). I pulled a large Yak bike trailer with all my gear. You guys were much more organized than me lol. I used paper maps or no maps 25 years ago, rode until I got tired, camped at Locks, matted bushes, benches, side of the trail, wherever I was when I got tired lol. Some days pushed well over 100 miles. Body is shot, would love to do it again, but on an Ebike this time around spread out over more days to soak it in an enjoy it more. Thanks for the video, FYI still miss the Brockport Diner, they had the best garbage plate around!

  7. Well done, this was a great video about the trail. I've been fortunate enough to do the Erie several times now, and there's one thing that I always plan for, a night in Amsterdam, so that I can eat at Lorenzo's.

  8. Nice video! Thanks for sharing!
I'm curious about the logistics. If you used Amtrak for shuttle, which stations did you use and where do you park? In Buffalo the Depew station has parking but a long commute to the trail. The Exchange station doesn't seem to have long term parking.

  9. What time of year did you do this trip? I’m looking at doing it in late May this year. Any locals feel free to chime in on whether that’s a good idea or not 😅

  10. Awesome video. I'm thinking of doing a short trip from Syracuse to Albany. Do you think normal 700c tires are fine on the crushed limestone portions?
