  1. Whatever you pack, just make sure you know when and how to use it. No point carrying a small ICU and having no clue how to use it in the field.

    As to your kit I’d throw in some ibuprofen and an antihistamine maybe 😛 Steri strips are nice to have as well. But it all depends whether you’re bike packing through the French backcountry, or the Atacama desert.

    I would recommend adding larger gauze pads and wrap. When I crashed all the usual kits were really lacking for medium road rash.

    Tegaderm patches. Both the ones with attached gauze and the ones without. That’s what the pros use on road rash and they are lightweight and thin. Also you can get the mesh netting that holds on gauze or bandages over an elbow or knee. Also light and small. Steri-strips or the fancy zip tie wound closures for a bad cut. A tiny super glue. 1-2 single use antibiotics packets. Alcohol wipes so that you can clean the skin so tegaderm or bandaids actually stick.
