This would be used for cross-training. $900 is within budget, but I have no idea if this is generally considered a good deal. Looking for some guidance from those with more experience!
Definitely not a bad choice for entry level. If you’re really looking to just get a bike for commuting id recommend marketplace and looking for a hybrid like a giant escape or maybe something older thats cheaper, easier to maintain, and you may even get a better groupset than claris. Id also keep looking around if I were you $900 definitely isnt bad for what is basically a new bike, but I think you can get a lot more bang for your buck on marketplace for that amount of money.
I was looking at getting this exact model but decided not to because of the mechanical brakes. Its not necessary but if you can find a good deal on a bike with hydraulics you’d really be future proofing yourself imo.

Its really not bad, but id prob prefer tiagra and def prefer 105. Its not bad but id prob prefer hydraulic brakes over mechanical. Its a pretty great bike but a more basic version of itself. I feel like 900 isn’t a great deal since its like 1200 new, and its not spec’d for enthusiasts so i think the resale isn’t what it could be

A few hundred off new for what seems like a new bike. Assuming you’re not going to do anything crazy with it where warranty might be an issue… seems like a way to save some $$ for a good helmet.

My gut reaction is if you’re just starting out, spend less money.
Get a cheaper, older bike, and then ride it around for a while find out what you like what you don’t like, and then you can spend some money upgrading while selling your older bike.

It’s a nice roadie, maybe a gravel bike. For every commute though, you’d probably want a flat bar instead if a dropdown.

Why’s it leaning against a tank though?
