Swapped the parts over today and took her for a rip with my buddy. She MOVES and the tires rock. Will likely be moving to some v brakes , maybe even start spending real money into components like that as I’ll be touring on this and they may come in handy for other ATB builds / 650b conversions (Paul I’m looking at you).
Couldn’t get SIS up and running again so it’s all friction, all the time.
Total cost went up because I had to buy a new seat post:$15 and donated money to the coop for my time there.

It’s really fun trying to stick super budget. Doable, but not as easy as some folks make it sound. Local bike co-ops are key, idk where I’d be without one.

Bargain bikes are super satisfying to build and ride. It’s a hell of an addiction!
Ive never found an XL frame 24” or bigger for under $100 tbh
