This weekend I wanted to challenge myself, I loaded up my bike with all my camping gear and cycled out on my journey to Ribblehead Viaduct, just 2 wheels and the open countryside. I invited my friend Dave to join me on my travels.
Saturday we cycled from Bolton to Calder Farm Camping, Ribble Valley via Belmont, Tockholes, Liverpool Leeds canal and Clitheroe. We ended up cycling an extra 10 miles as Dave relies on pubs for food in the evenings.
Sunday morning we ventured from the campsite over to Malham, Skipton to visit Malham Cove before continuing our journey to Ribblehead Viaduct, I knew the Sunday was going to be a hard ride and we didn’t end up getting to Philpin Farm Campsite till late in the evening, we did however stop off in Station Inn , Ribblehead for food and drink before heading to camp for the night.
Monday we left the campsite quite late on and due to my saddle sores (ouch!!) we shaved 20 miles off our journey and boarded a train to Hellifield and then cycled back to Clitheroe.
Saturday – 42.41 miles
Sunday – 34.48 miles
Monday – 19.78 miles
Total – 96.67 miles
We probably did more as I did forget to turn Strava on to record my routes
