On this 7th leg of the cycle, I go from Boston in Lincolnshire to Folkestone in Kent, via the great humpback of East Anglia. This largely flat part of the country is famous for its fens and history of viking attacks. It’s also a place without good cycling on the coast, and therefore not a lot of coast to film! Trouble crossing the Thames was followed by a day cycling in sunshine around the beautiful Kent seaside towns of Margate and Ramsgate, and then on into Dover.

I'm from the States but holiday in the UK, so not only is this series enjoyable to watch, it also has given me some ideas on places that I'd like to visit – and places to avoid! Ironically, I have a sister and brother-in-law who live in Dover who I visit, and I have to say you've shown Dover in its best light! I'm looking forward to your future installments. I can't believe you missed out ALL of Suffolk, and just had the bookends of Lowestoft and Felixtowe! The Suffolk coast has so much to offer when it's not raining!
Gray/grey skies I love, Iām from the western side of Washington State just about 100 miles south of Vancouver Canada. šØš¦. I was surprised to hear a town called California in England. I love to hear about the history and seeing the landscape of the UK.

Yep, the bike definitely needs sorting out – making a bad squeaking sound, so at the least needs oiling, but more likely the bottom bracket has gone.
Great video! How annoying to find that ferry unavailable. Sad that they didnāt include the cycle/foot passage on Dartford bridge – a real oversight!

Having just come across your latest video in this series, I'm fairly certain you've subconsciously inspired me to go bikepacking through your earlier videos. I started this May and have been on two trips so far. Thank you š
I did a cycle tour down around the south east coast a few years ago, following a lot of the routes you've done on this trip, but going the other way. I had ferry issues too, it didn't run on sunday or it finished early, can't remember, and i was stranded in gravesend, possibly the worse place i've ever been to in the uk! rode a few miles out to a nice country park though for the night, so ended up ok in the end.
Also that section along the north of the thames after/before the ferry was certainly questionable, as i was fully loaded with a dog trailer and my dog too! trying to navigate those silly little foot bridges and stairs!
Also i was disgusted by most of kent, the rubbish in the countryside was horrendous! shame because it was lovely countryside but just made me angry most the ride š
Ramsgate has a few museums I would like to visit!

That part of the NCN at Tilbury Fort is jokes… you're basically riding on the key section of the retaining wall.
Well u haven't got much of a tan to say you've been cycling all day long for weeks. What month did u cycle ? Didn't look very sunny.
