  1. Ayyyee Happy Wednesday!!! So I’m wrapping up the Atlanta series and have to ask… what would you do if your mom or dad was door dashing at 78 years old?

  2. Charlie, Amy and Trevor who you met a few days ago have left the Netherlands and flying at this moment to Chicago. I filmed the take-off from their plane today. The plane had an hour delay.

  3. I think thats just the downside of being in a purely capitalistic society. Its nature is to be predatory on its inhabitants, people are taught to always buy more useless stuff and maximizing every penny that can be taken. Without protections from the government the result is freedom for the companies but not its citizens.

The Netherlands is still heavily capitalistic but there is a framework of protections in place to make the system work for the people instead take advantage of the people.

  4. Wonderful that they accept the ideas and help from the Dutch to make it more bike and walk friendly. So good to see this development. Maybe some changes are happening slowly in how people can get around.
At the other hand it is so sad that the US has so many poverty and homeless people. Nobody in the government who cares about it. The greed for ever more money makes the US a third world country for the US citizens. Your video's makes me realize how fortunate I am to live in the Netherlands.

  5. every car is with automatic gears no stickshift can you drive with stickshift in the netherlands almost every car is with stickshift

  6. I had an American colleague and friend (deceased now). His investments ran out and he finished up living in his car until his church found him a rent-free apartment where he spent his last three years.

  7. Watch what you say, they track your social media and maybe won’t let you leave just to be AH.
We want your family to make it out. ❤

  8. Nice to see fietsinfrastructuur in the States. it gives people an option to bike. There is former railroad turned into bike bikepath in the Netherlands. het Bels Lijntje )belgian line) which connects Tilburg to Turnhout

  9. You know, I can compare it to the situation in the Netherlands (and especially to our both hometown Haarlem!). The gap between the rich and less rich or poorer people in the Netherlands is increasing, but for eldery retired people there's no need to work anylonger. I guess the main reason is that we say we don't trust the government very well (but actually we do) and we are aware that we pay for the government. In the USA, the government must be as small as possible, there's an employment by will instead of employment by contract, and the capitalist companies are holy. So they can decide everything, like the prices for insurances. My advice: vote as left and progressive as possible. Social democracy isn't creepy, it's a fair share.

  10. well it is a bit inherent to the system 😉
you can pay your groceries, but livability suffers.
or…you have livability, but can't pay your groceries,

if everything what is covered by tax in other nations, is covered through a profit system, prices will suffer.
rent goes up, land value, more wealth needed to run the same stuff, while all services get more expensive due to the upscaling of a neighborhood.
you got bicycle lanes? well that is a perk that enhances value thus costs.

here public services are structured a bit different.
a bit more focus on the 'public' part …. and a lot less on potential profitable value enhancement due to the 'service' part.

  11. the $200 a year for car insurance has to be wrong, unless it was an oldtimer car he doesn't use as a daily driver. like a 1970 Citroën or Volvo

  12. It’s the total commercialization and consumerism for me, I don’t think you even noticed when you said “I was sitting in a restaurant and a commercial came on”.. excuse me a commercial came on in a restaurant?? Unless you go to a sportsbar where but mostly WHY, would you find a screen in a restaurant??

  13. We had commercials like that too in the ninethies for kids in nl. Clearasil i believe and some others, but is banned nowadays. Also hygiene products for young teen girls. Was full of pharmaceuticals. Now only through huisarts, better. Congratz btw

  14. I'm Dutch and I've been dealing with dspression for about 20 years now. The things that make me happy/happier on a daily basis are nature, connections with people, seeing people in the neighbourbood going about their day. Just the small daily conversations with locals.

I can't imagine being stuck in a car all day or stuck in a house somewhere in an empty-feeling suburb. Human connection and the outside are so important.

  15. The USA must tax the rich! So sad that a country like that cannot support its people. They tax the poor, but not the big companies and rich people. Crazy!
