I mounted a smart monitor designed for motorcycles on my e-bike. It serves as a replacement for a rearview mirror, and since I got it secondhand for $30 and it’s waterproof, I can leave it attached all the time.
I struggled with how to mount it so it wouldn’t obstruct my forward view while riding, so I modified a smartphone arm mount I had lying around and gave it a try.
I aligned the screw holes on the bracket that hangs the basket from the handlebars, drilled some holes, and mounted it—which moved the monitor position slightly forward 🥳
The arm is white, so it looks a bit out of place, though 😆

I don’t want a live camera feed of what is behind me.
Nope- if I ever felt that unsafe or insecure, I wouldn’t ride.
And the clutter up front is crazy.
– front bag.
– giant Pixar looking mount for this camera display.
– headlight.
– garmin mount.
– top tube bag.
– some electronic button thing, I am guessing it’s ebike related.
– some out front mount with a plastic blue flower or whatever.
So much clutter.
To each their own though.
as much as i love it, cant even go outside with have a screen in our faces anymore xD im guilty of it too. today i went to the park with my girl and dog to watch a soccer game, and my first thought was ‘man it would be nice to have a tv right now’ lol.
no but its dope. i might do something similar. but at the same time ive noticed its pretty easy to navigate on the bike without a gps, just use the street signs and study routes at home. its more satisfying tbh
But why
Whatever works I guess, but that setup would be entirely too busy and overloaded for me.
Fun project, I always thought it would be funny to add android auto/car play to a bike.
For rear view though, a [take a look mirror](https://takealookactive.com/product/original-cyclist-mirror/) works great and never needs recharging.
