🚴♂️ Your complete guide to riding and watching the Tour de France in the Alps 🚴♂️
In this episode, we take on the final mountain stages of the 2024 Tour de France — riding up epic Alpine climbs, battling the elements, and soaking up the chaos of roadside spectating. From tips on the best spots to watch, to what to pack (hint: bin bags are more useful than you think), this is everything you need to know if you’re planning your own TdF trip.
We tackle climbs to over 2,300 metres, ride alongside thousands of fans, and watch the world’s best cyclists fight it out on Stage 18 and Stage 19. There’s mud, rain, cowbells, and more than a few characters along the way.
💡 My top Tour de France tips:
Bring bin bags (trust me)
Carry more clothing than you think you need
Take food, water, and a speaker
Leave plenty of time for the climb
Embrace the madness and bad weather — it’s part of the fun
Don’t miss the ride up — it’s like the world’s biggest sportive on closed roads
Find a steep section to watch the race for the best view and atmosphere

Truly wonderful
Superb video Sam. Love the commentary, tips (black bin bags being the standout) and the spectacular views. 🇫🇮😎 What model was your mates Trek.?
Awesome video went to both stages as well 300M at Col de la Loze. descent down the backside was epic pros blowing their whistles and then blowing our doors off in epic conditions. Great video, fun to relive the same experience through someone else’s eyes.
Great video and it looks like you all had a blast despite horrendous weather at times. One thing that occurs is do the pro seem as fast in real life going up the climbs as they do on the telly? It looked like Pogacar and Vingegaard were flying up!
Big up Tom 👊 & the trip 👏
Great vid, I've been toying with the idea of making it to the TDF within the next year or 2, watching this I'm not sure if you've swayed me to go or swayed me to give it a skip 🤔.
Keep up the good work in the vids 👏🏻
