Oh, you meant the spacers. Yeah, I’d probably do that.

Yeah thanks guys I also tried to bleed the brake and after a few pumps it quickly lost pressure I guess I just get the correct adapter + brake combo

Yes, I’m going to have to as my rear pads miss half the rotor, so the height of the spacer to the caliper is totally off, and I only have half the braking power, etc. I’m glad to see this solution today actually!

REPLACE THOSE BRAKES! The Elixirs are death traps at this point. They will 100% fail on you mid ride.
The Magura adapters will work fine with most modern brakes.

Elixer is the worst brake I’ve ever used so no, I’d never do that again. I switched to Shimano years ago and never looked back. So easy to do a brake bleed or just top off the fluid and they just work.

since you use an adapter from IS to post mount, i don’t think a few spacers are a problem
Not really any different than using conical washers instead. If anything just makes it harder to align the brake.
No, I’d buy the right spacer. They’re like $15 for an actual Shimano one.
No way I’m risking my brakes to save US$10.

I would, but I am known for doing stupid things.
No, I’d never run Avid brakes on my bike (again).
