  1. Dumb lock use notwithstanding, how the hell ARE you supposed to lock to a rack like that?

This is called freelocking. If you’re just popping in somewhere it works to just keep somebody from riding it away. I’ve done it grabbing a pickup order or something if there’s no bike parking around. This person probably should’ve just locked it regular but if they’re gonna be out in a few minutes they see whoever is lugging this thing away. Not that crazy

It’s like a parking brake for the bike. It won’t go anywhere because the wheel can’t turn lol 😂.

Doesn’t even look like the bike beyond it has any lock. Maybe these are free bikes, ha ha. It actually does, just hard to see. I won’t spoil it, but comment if you see.

  5. Look at that Novara 😍right next to the Huffy. REI made some decent bikes back in the day.

Last week I saw this guy come out of Coles, walk up to his bike (that was locked up in a designated zone), proceeds to remove the key that he has on a key ring attached to the brake housing, and unlocks his bike.

That Huffy sticker is all you need to keep this bike from being stollen.

I think the lock itself is trying to distance itself from the bike. I can’t blame it really. It’s worth more than the bike.

that lock job is stressing me out just looking at it, like it’s technically doing something but not the thing it’s supposed to do 😭
