So the Felt AR Advanced Disc is unexceptional as far as carbon race bikes go – it’s not particularly good or bad. The qualifier to that statement is that *any* modern carbon race bike is already going to be very, very good, especially to someone who hasn’t ridden a nice road bike before. You might get a marginally better ride or slightly better aero out of a different brand, but without any frame of reference and unless you’re an exceptionally sensitive rider, this one is already going to feel like a rocketship.
This deal in particular is good, but not exceptional. A few weeks ago I would have said this is probably one of the best bikes you can get at this price point. But in the time since, [X-lab brought the RS7 to the US,](https://www.jensonusa.com/xds-x-lab-rs7-bike) and for just $100 more you get a power meter, a carbon integrated cockpit, *and* carbon wheels, all in an arguably more up-to-date frame and overall better package. It’s a lot more than $100 more bike than the Felt. The caveat to that, though, is that the RS7 is incredibly in demand right now and as a result it is backordered out past June in most sizes.
If you can wait for it to restock, I’d get the RS7. If you want something as soon as possible, the Felt isn’t a bad choice.
