$250 for the trek and $300 for cannondale. This seller buys and refurbishes bikes. This will be my first bike since childhood lol. I'm very excited. I'm drawn to the cannondale one.
Trek is cool (and also just a nicer bike for less money, no brainer)

Trek is a nicer frame. IMO the cannondale is basically a Huffy

Trek looks great. Guess it depends on which type of trails you plan to ride

I’m going back tomorrow. This trek may or may not be gone but there’s another trek he’s getting ready. So what i’m hearing is, go with trek no matter what?

I’d go with the Trek, assuming it fits you.

Everyone has already said this but the Trek is a much more versatile frame and is kinda shmexxy.

Trek, if it fits. Of course, it’s green, so I might buy it anyway if it was close.

I had this exact Trek model for many years. It will serve you well.

Trek is timeless. I’d invest that extra cash on some nicer pedals, saddle or bigger tires.

Trek, all day. Steel bike > Aluminum bike

I would not for the trek between these two, u less I only wanted to fool around on the bike. For riding anywhere more than a few hundred metres, trek get you there comfortably, not sure the canondale would be so nice after the first few mins

The Trek is overpriced, imo. That’s a 30+ year old bike. I’ve bought a few of those for $25-$50 in need of cleaning/tune ups, etc.
The Cannondale is newer, lighter weight, and has better components, but I’m not digging the bright highlights on the paint. I would personally keep looking for a different option.

Cannondale if you want to exercise and ride hard, Trek if you want a more casual upright ride while you explore the neighborhood.
The C’dale is more modern (1995 vs 2005, roughly speaking), but it’s a pretty standard dime a dozen hybrid (and I wouldn’t pay more than $200 for it). The Trek has a higher ceiling with the right upgrades, it’s a nicer frame.
C’dale looks a bit on the small side, looks a bit like a kid’s bike even.

Aside from everything else mentioned here, the Trek looks to be at least one size if not two sizes bigger than the cannondale. Above all else make sure the one you pick fits you properly, there is no such thing as a good bike that doesn’t fit you OP.

Those are really different sized bikes. Is either one the correct size for you?
That Trek is for someone at least 5-10 and the Cannondale is for someone closer to 5ft.

The trek is sweet and can be upgraded super easily. You can check out r/biking for inspiration if you ever want to upgrade anything
