Bought a used bike for 200€ and flew to Wakkanai in north Japan, then biked 2700km for 43 days to Kagoshima (south Japan) and then took the ferry to Okinawa. Sold my bike again for almost the same as I bought it for to an American soldier.
My first bikepacking trip was a success and I’m definitely planning on going biking again! Best experiences was meeting all the random people and feeling the generosity of strangers!

Nice trip, i will do it in a month going south to north.
helll yeaahhh brother! what dates did you do this? I’m in the middle of my south to north traversal right now, just took 6 days off in Osaka after 14 days of cycling from Cape Soya through Kyushu and Shikoku to get here. Looking forward to being in Wakkanai in a little over 35 days!
