FB Marketplace budget hardtail — worth it or pass?

A mtn newbie looking for advice on a budget friendly hardtail mtb purchase. Not looking for anything fancy, just something that I can use for a 20 min commute to work and wheels I can use on the trails — kind of an all-in-one bike for the time being. I’ve mostly been a road cyclist up to this point, so this is a bit new to me. Any advice is appreciated!

Here’s the bike I’m looking at: Rocky Mountain Soul 2015

Listing details: Rocky Mountain hardtail mountain bike. Size medium with 27.5, 3×9 speed, in good condition, with lockout front fork. Converts to approx $150 USD.

It’s a 2015 model, so over a decade old. Is it worth buying or should I hold off and spend a bit more for something newer/better.
