It’s been almost two months, and I still haven’t been able to find a single full video of Wout’s attack in the Milano–Sanremo finale.

Why do we only ever get the moments that make it onto the TV broadcast? It’s similar with Cavendish’s last Tour de France win—I’ve never seen a full, uninterrupted helicopter shot of it either.

Is there a reason why footage like that isn’t available?

My theory is that the team doing the video feed has someone live-mixing it. The broadcasters have all paid for that live mix and they record their commentary over it. It’s possible that footage that didn’t make the live mix isn’t even recorded – can be a ton of storage space required – or it’s just backed up and archived in a way that makes it a colossal pain in the ass to get to.

$ rules. You got that disposable in multiples of 10s of Millions? Then you can change this.

It is the host broadcaster controlling it and then your country broadcaster deciding how much coverage they will show.

  5. I took tons of video with 3 different cameras at the greenville crit last week and have no idea what to do with it.
