i have recently rebuilt it and it was originally pink when found it at the thrift store and i think some parts where mixed and matched and i just want some information on how old it is or what bike the parts are from
You can see what year the bike is by the serial number. Looks like it’s all era correct except for the brakes. I can’t tell from my phone.

Someone spray painted it pink and you removed it back to chrome ?
Biomax315 on
Yes, very 80’s
Looks like a Mongoose Californian BMX frame with freestyle forks added to it. GT OGK mags, Skyway rear pegs, Hutch Tricktop seat, Tioga Compact Disc sprocket and maybe a Redline Forklifter stem (or knockoff, they were common).
No point in having that detangler/ rotor on it if you’re gonna run the brake cables direct. If you wanna run the rear brakes through the detangler for the back brakes, you’ll wanna run the front brakes down through the stem bolt if it’s hollow (Pott’s Mod) and out the bottom on the forks.
Go to PlanetBMX or PorkchopBMX and grab yourself an era-correct seatpost clamp, that one on there is trash.
Idk what you paid for it, but it’s probably worth a lot more than you paid for it if you thrifted it. Great find, I’m pretty jealous 🙂
