Hi everyone, I wanted to ask what I could do in this situation. I have a new fork, a bit old but otherwise fine. I installed everything ready for the stem adapter, but it won't fit. It's a very tight fit, and while it has some rust, I've already removed most of it. The adapter post is for a 22.2mm inner diameter, just like the one I had on another bike, but it doesn't fit this new fork; it's 1mm smaller. I'm thinking of taking it to a relative's house so we can drill a hole to increase the diameter by 1mm, but I'm afraid the post might lose its structure.
I know the plastic caliper isn't exact, but it must be giving good measurements since it doesn't fit, haha.

Probably .833″/21.1mm ID. [You can hone out enough to take it to 22.2](https://www.reddit.com/r/xbiking/comments/1jujmg8/comment/mm3tj4l/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) pretty easily, but don’t try to use a drill bit. There should be no risk to the structure of the fork if done properly. The 25.4 OD is the same as any other steerer, so the wall thickness is not being changed beyond reason.
