It’s almost summer and there are plenty of posts around UPF rated LS jerseys so I won’t try and add another thread along those lines. I’m searching for something along the same lines but rates for hot / humid conditions. I tend to run warm and when the weather starts getting above 25 C (~76 in Freedom Units) and there is any sense of humidity I sweat a lot and tend to overheat.

I have a few of the MAAP Evade Pro 2.0 LS jerseys which are rated for 18-35 and have a great UPF rated honeycomb fabric on the sleeve…they are great but I tend to be most comfortable in these between 13-25 degrees.

So my hunt for a unicorn: Are there any long sleeve jerseys (preferably with a bit of a UPF rating) that actually work well above 30/35 for those of us that tend to run warmer and and need the sweat to evaporate?

Obvious bonus karma to any suggestions that are well made and look good at the same time. I’m not obsessed with Aero or road biased, I really just want to be comfortable when the sun is high and the temps climb a bit.

  1. I don’t think so lol, no ls jersey is gonna be better than a ss jersey in 30C

Have you tried sun sleeves? I wear castelli UPF ones but there’s a ton on various e commerce sites for lot cheaper

This is a **Phoenix** of a topic. Everybody is searching for it, but brands insist to ignore what sounds like a million+ customers.

There are some players, Giordana seems to have them, but never in stock.

Voler recently reintroduced a 35 UPF full(long) and half sleeve variant. As a local CA company, I’m fan of Voler. Solid company and stitched in CA.

Go with merino wool, a summer weight if you can find it. I have worn mine up to about 75° with little issues. I don’t think I’d go warmer without a summer weight one. Sun sleeves, as mentioned, are good. Honestly, I find they work better when it’s 90°. At 75, the humidity here never lets them evaporate. I guess tariffs are gone? Idk? There is a NZ company that I’ve always wanted to buy from: https://www.groundeffect.co.nz/products/rock-lobster-summer-long-sleeve-shirt

  5. I co-run a cycling brand in Sydney (Caffeine and Cranks) so this question comes up constantly in our design process. The honest take is that genuine heat above 30°C plus long sleeve plus UPF is a really hard combination to get right. Most LS jerseys that claim summer suitability really perform best in the 18-25°C range.

What actually helps at 30C+: maximum mesh paneling rather than solid fabric, lighter fabric weights, and sun sleeves over a SS jersey is underrated for dialling in coverage vs breathability. The UPF number itself can be less relevant to actual heat comfort than the amount of airflow the construction allows.

Easy Answer. Ocean and San DeltaPeak Sun Shirt. I own a couple and use them for hot temp rides.
