After basically wearing out my 90s Bianchi (which I’ll still keep for some side projects), I’m looking to get something more modern and reliable for commuting.I don’t really want to buy new, so I started looking online for more options. Now I’m deciding between:Refurbished = checked, fixed and sold with some kind of warranty
Used = cheaper, but no real guarantees.
Anyone here has experience with either?

maybe Craigslist and Facebook marketplace for local deals first, then Pinkbikes and reputable Facebook cycling groups for shipping option, eBay next
If you are unable to do your own maintenance or tune ups, get a refurb. otherwise get a used bike.
I often buy used bikes. things I check for are good frame, no play in hubs, good condition rims, no play in bottom bracket. the rest is easy to fix even if all the gears skip or if the brakes are fucked.
