Get yourself a sturdy rear rack and a couple Ortlieb panniers. I like Old Man Mountain racks, especially when you don’t have the proper brazed on nuts for standard attachments. OMM has axle mount and plenty of options for connecting. For short trips I sometimes only take one of my large panniers.

Be aware that your bike has a shortish wheelbase. Your heels might bump into the panniers, they are adjustable, but I just like to point out that bikes designed for carrying luggage have a distinctly different geometry than a road bike.

You can maybe get away with a skinny backpack, but man I hate riding with a backpack. I nice fat handlebar bag is another option but you can’t put much weight in there.

  2. Half frame bag + handlebar bag + seat bag should cover everything for a short overnighter a fender isn’t necessary. If you are just carrying one set of clothes and shoes you should only need a seat bag but a half frame bag is really nice for food/random other stuff. Good luck!

I’d consider saddle bag with thin underwear, shorts, shirt, jacket, sandals. Bonus if the shorts can be worn in the hot tub. You should be able to go to an easy dinner w this

Something like a Revelate Terrapin bag, the largest, should be enough. I’ve done an overnighter at a friends which included a full change of clothes, shoes (Xero Prio), toothbrush, deoderant. The shoes actually went on the outside of the pack while everything else went into the bag. If that’s all you’re taking it’s easy peasy.

Going with a rack and panniers is so overkill for so little.

  5. Side discussion. The handlebar rotation looks odd to me. Both hood and drop seem to be angled too high. Is the handlebar rotation and position optimized?
